Is there a connection between root canals and cancer?

I have been having a hectic day, apart from normal kids duties, I have been thinking and researching intensely about root canals and their connection to cancer, via a tip off from a friend.

It is so scary to think, that no matter what we do in our lives to lose weight, balance our alkaline-acidity, detox, eat the right stuff, cut out sugar, gluten etc. there maybe something inside our mouths that just keeps poisoning us from within, WHATEVER we do to clean our act up by ourselves.

The aim of Root Canal Therapy is to ‘save’ a tooth which has become infected or dead, in an attempt to make it functional and pain free. After scraping out the inside of the tooth the dentist will attempt to disinfect the tooth and the canals to eliminate any source of infection. The canal is then filled with a combination of cement and Gutta Percha in an attempt to completely occlude these canals. This is supposedly to prevent any microorganisms from entering the tooth either through the crown or the root.

For some obscure reason we are all conditioned to think that teeth are not a part of the body, but that they are inert, calcified material, and that they are sort of dead anyway. Dentistry is the only one of all the medical & para-medical professions that thinks it is a good idea to keep dead, gangrenous tissue in the body.

- Robert Gamal

For those of us who HAVE had root canals done on our teeth, the possibility of serious side effects is very, very real and there is a growing body of professionals who know that some diseases without doubt originate from the bacteria collecting in the root of the dead tooth. Furthermore, this is something they have known since the holistic dentist Weston A. Price published his research on Root Therapy in the 1920′s. Surprisingly enough, this research is still ahead of current dental teaching 90 years later.

Dr. Price devised a testing method which disclosed the presence of infection in a tooth which otherwise seemed to be healthy–that is, the implanting of the root canal filled tooth under the skin of a laboratory animal. He found that when the root-filled tooth of a patient with a degenerative disease was extracted and imbedded in an animal, that animal would develop the patient’s disease. He did this in over 5000 animal studies and the results were consistent.

This involved diseases or conditions such as endocarditis and other heart diseases, kidney and bladder diseases, arthritis, rheumatism, mental diseases, lung problems, stomach ulcers, ovarian diseases, phlebitis, osteomyelitis, and pregnancy complications. Those infections proved so devastating that most animals died with 3-12 days. When these same teeth were sterilized with steam heat and embedded in animals, no adverse health effects were experienced. Furthermore, a large percentage of people recovered from their illnesses after extraction of the root canal filled teeth used in the experiments. When sound, uninfected natural teeth were implanted in animals, no adverse health effects were experienced. This vitally important research was forced underground, and has remained virtually unknown since its 1923 publication.

- Tuberose (read this for a deeper picture of root canals, a fascinating page).

According to Bill Henderson, author of “Cure Your Cancer” and “Cancer-Free”, root canals is “the big elephant in the room”. Bill reports that “it has been proved by many dentists and oral surgeons I respect that virtually all degenerative disease starts in the dentist`s chair. and points to the book “The Roots of Disease” by Robert Kulacz, D.D.S.

Bill goes on to say, “I have worked with hundreds of people who have struggled with all kinds of conventional and alternative treatment. Nothing seems to work to heal them. When these people finally wake up to the above and get their mouths cleaned up, they get well in weeks — not months. Almost everyone (85-90% of the people I work with) has root canal-filled teeth. One lady had 13 of `em. They are ALWAYS related to the cancer. No exceptions.”

Dr. Thomas Levy, one of the world`s experts on dental toxicity, told me he had done a study with Dr. Hal Huggins from 1994-2000. They removed “over 5,000 root canal-filled teeth.” He said they took every one of them to the lab and tested it. Every one of them had toxins coming out of it “more toxic than botulism.” His exact words. You can see on a thermogram the root canal tooth with its inflammation on the exact same meridian as the cancer tumor in the breast, colon, prostate, etc., etc. There are over 40 million root canal fillings done in the U.S. alone every year.

Scary or what? So it should be, it scared me enough to take action about this. Let me explain, I have one root canal in my mouth right now -

My story: A couple of years ago, around the time I was writing my tooth enamel regeneration posts, I had a filling drop out in a front molar and couldn’t get back to London to see my holistic dentist to have it replaced, so I went to the local dentist here in France. Boy-oh-Boy what a mistake that was. He promptly drilled deeper into my tooth, killed the nerve and filled it with what I assume is gutta percha, then told me what he had done, giving me the option of having a crown or leaving the tooth fragile and filled as is. I opted for the as is, not a happy bunny. I got the hell outta there and took my kids before he got anywhere near them.

That was then and although I knew that it could possibly become infected, I did not know how seriously it was affecting my health JUST BEING IN MY MOUTH, even when I next visited my dentist in London and he looked dismayed, telling me that 99% of dentists were ‘drillers and filers’ and that soon he would have to ‘deal’ with the sick tooth and root. Not soon enough it seems, it is still in there – but come May, when I am back in London, it will be out, gone and got rid of for good. Goodbye cancer threat, goodbye! I always wanted to look like a pirate/gypsy anyway, but that is NOTHING compared to what I could look like if I leave this nugget in there.

Please do the same, please just do it. If you have cancer and want to look into alternative therapies start by looking at this site:

One of the toughest things about getting your root canal-filled teeth removed is finding a true biological dentist to help you. Beware. There are lots of dentists who claim to be “biological dentists” who still do root canal fillings. Give them a wide berth. Here is the best online directory I know of for finding a true biological dentist. Just go to:

http://www.IABDM.org

The organization is the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM). Just click on the “Find a Practitioner” link at the above page.

Don’t trust any referral, even one from this page, without interviewing their office. The first question I would ask is “Does your office do root canal fillings?” If the answer is “Yes,” just hang up and go on to the next one. If you get a satisfactory answer to the first question, I would ask “How does your office determine the degree of inflammation in the root canal-filled tooth?” You may not understand all the technical jargon you get in the answer, but it will give you an idea of the professional caliber of the office.

Get them out, folks. They’re deadly…And don’t forget to ask the dentist to look for “cavitations.” These are holes left in your jaw from previous extractions. They can be just as deadly as a root canal-filled tooth.

Unfortunately, it is not just a case of ‘talk to your dentist’. Your regular dentist probably does not know. I am lucky, I go to a holistic dentist (and good friend) who tells me that Weston Price’s work should be standard dental curriculum study, period, but I was unlucky that I got a root canal from a French dentist who didn’t know.

More info to come on root canals from me, including a protocol you can print out and take to your holistic dentist and I will post my own root canal extraction story up here when I get it done in May. For now, I will end an intensive (and scary) day and read stories to my children and go to bed myself. Let me leave you with three thoughts from a wonderful site by a respected Australian holistic dentist:

NEVER enter a dental surgery where amalgam is used
Never allow fluoride to be used in your mouth
Never allow root therapy to be performed on you

by Robert Gammal

I got the first two sorted for myself and my children, unfortunately I did not understand the dire warning of the third. Bad luck me. I want everyone who has read this to be scared into doing something about their mouth too.

Goodnight (thanks again Lisa).

  2. So, do you just go around toothless when you have your root canals extracted? I have 2. I just had one re-done because the first time a drill bit was left in there!! I have no pain now so I’m happy… but now that I’ve read this… I’m curious! Maybe a little scared! My father has had root canals and has lymphoma. Maybe he should have all those teeth removed. Can you put false teeth in? Thanks for posting this. Interesting!

    • No! you can have a bridge made, which means that a false tooth without roots is modeled from the old tooth out of ceramic material (white), placed in the gap and joined permanently at each side to the adjacent teeth. My RC is the first molar at the front so very conspicuous, but, you know what? I have no problem replacing it with a bridge if it means I will be free from contamination. I would rather pay for this to be done now than spend money on cancer/liver – whatever – treatment later; it may not come to that, but how do I know?? I will ask the dentist about this when I see him. Have a look here and see whether your father’s root canal corresponds to the lymphoma, I want to check which tooth my brother’s root canal is on, he has a brain tumor.

      thanks for visiting!

  3. But if a root canal can be replaced by a bridge why do you have to go to a ‘holistic’ dentist for that?. Can’t one ask the dentist who put the root canal in in the first place. S/he might grumble but probably wouldn’t miss the opportunity to make some more money on you.

    • you must make sure that the dentist removes all the root canal plus a small amount of jaw bone to stop the infection spreading – I would recommend you see a holistic dentist yes……
